Vietnamese-born, Berlin-based artist Danh Vo speaks at the opening reception for The Renaissance Society’s presentation of Uterus, his solo exhibition, along with We The People—an ongoing project in which Vo is reproducing the Statue of Liberty in full scale, one copper fragment at a time. His artistic practice juxtaposes historical and personal artifacts, and the results highlight how history shapes identity. This reception is free and open to the public, featuring a talk with the artist from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in Breasted Hall, the Oriental Institute.
