What is happiness? What are the characteristics of happy people? How can individuals achieve a greater degree of happiness in their personal lives? Ancient and modern philosophers, from Buddhists to existentialists, have attempted to define happiness and its pursuit. Psychologist Michael Winters will explore these and other views, focusing on both intellectual understanding and personal involvement in the pursuit of happiness. Throughout the course, he will discuss specific life strategies for understanding and improving personal happiness.
