In this musical by Mel Brooks (music and lyrics) and Thomas Meehan, a down-on-his-luck theatrical producer, Max Bialystock, teams with meek accountant Leo Bloom. Together they fabricate the perfect scam. The two intend to raise more money than they actually need to produce a play that is sure to bomb on Broadway, and then pocket the difference. The product of their plot is called "Springtime for Hitler."
