And you thought your internet dates were a nightmare…
Allsopp & Henderson’s hilarious new black comedy thriller, The Pork Stiletto premieres at The Old Fitzroy Theatre from Thursday, 19 July to Saturday, 11 August. Directed by Iain Sinclair, The Pork Stiletto is set against the strange but strangely real backdrop of Internet dating and explores the seductive world of those leading double lives.
Emma, an ambitious young psychologist, is researching the relationship between fantasy and online dating. With her assistant Damon, she ventures out into the dark and murky backwaters of the dating scene and discovers a goldmine, brimming with fantasy, fetish and desire. But there's a monster lurking…
And as Emma goes deeper, the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur. Log on if you dare.
"I have been a fan of Allsopp and Henderson ever since my mind was bent out of shape and then put back together again (in a much better way than it was before) while watching ‘A Porthole into the Minds of the Vanquished’. I've directed thrillers, dramas and comedies before but having the chance to direct all three at the same time while they kaleidoscope in and out of each other in an infinite cat project like study on the far reaches of human desires feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity for me," said Director, Iain Sinclair.
Since graduating with distinction from the RADA masters program in 1997, critically acclaimed Director, Iain Sinclair has been specialising in new writing and contemporary international work. He is best known for his mainstage Sydney Theatre Company productions Our Town and Blood Wedding. He was the director and dramaturg of the Tom Holloway's Beyond the Neck, which was a winner of an AWGIE and Kate Mulvany’s AWGIE nominated The Seed. In his early career Sinclair was assistant director to Cate Blanchett, Jean Pierre-Mignon, Gale Edwards and Max Stafford Clark.
