With matching polka-dot dresses and seamless '60s-inspired choreography, the Pipettes came together in 2004. Local promoter Monster Bobby, seeking to bring the classic Spector-esque girl group sound to the new millennium masses, assembled a trio that began as an experiment in manufactured pop. With help from the production expertise of Memphis Industries, The Pipettes issued the successful singles 'School Uniform,' 'ABC,' and 'Judy' during the summer of 2005. But it was 'Your Kisses Are Wasted on Me' that score the group their first Top 40 hit in 2006. The Pipettes' debut album, 'We Are the Pipettes,' followed in July.
