Philadelphia’s largest and award-winning burlesque troupe, the Peek a Boo Revue brings Burlesque Legend, Satan’s Angel, to the historically infamous Trocadero Theater Sunday, November 13 at 8pm. Once a burlesque show house, the arrival of Peek a Boo Revue and Satan’s Angel on the Troc’s stage will make the walls sing in sizzling nostalgia.
Dominating titles ‘pioneer’ and ‘goddess’; Satan’s Angel is a legend of burlesque and the originating queen of Fire Tassel Twirling. Since her debut in North Beach, CA 1961, Satan’s Angel has lit her tassels on fire over 25,000 times all over the world, spanning a 40+ year career.
She made even more waves as an out and proud lesbian, when such a self identification choice was taboo in the tabooist of forms. She’s been repeatedly fired from jobs for her open sexuality. However, through her flaming career, her integrity as a burlesque artist and her personal mission to keep the fire of this American art form alive has ignited that same love in thousands of performers and viewers worldwide.
