Razor sharp melodies to cascading choruses, The Opposite Sex are an alternative post punk band who have crafted their own sonic vision, adding elements of Glam punk, avant-gardism and theater.

In their time together as a band, they have opened for 80's alternative act New Model Army 90's popsters The Ocean Blue, Cinema strange, Lene Lovich.

In late 2005 The Opposite Sex released their first e.p.(self titled). "The excitable undertones of this CD are great news, producing well crafted, intelligent, oddly romantic music"(Polina Y). "The Opposite Sex offer dark, post punk accompaniment with pounding drums and swelling intensity"(Washington City paper).

Lakini Malich of (Drop Dead Magazine) says,"The mood is one of grim determination, an atmosphere of lurking hope, and
their Live performances are even better, with art film oddities projected behind them and animal masks adorning their faces" (The Dcist )called them "An angrier version of the Cure, they score points for orginality".

The Opposite Sex incorporate video as another instrument, as surreal imagery is edited live on several screens, mixing in live footage and creating a montage as the band performs. A perfect blend of theater and music.
