The Custom Made Theatre Co. proudly opens our 2007/08 season with Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright David Mamet's The Old Neighborhood
Called his "most autobiographical play" by The New Yorker, "The Old Neighborhood" is Mamet's fierce and funny scenes from a mid-life crisis as Hollywood agent Bobby Gould returns to his hometown Chicago to reconnect with the people and powerful emotions of his past.
In three vignettes, he encounters an old buddy, his sister, and a former lover. Hanging over each of them is the breakup of community, of family and, above all, of the Jewish culture that held them together.
Directed by Artistic Director Brian Katz, and staring Custom Made regulars Leah S. Abrams, Michael Berlin, David Fierro, Mary McGloin and introducing Gabriel Grilli* as Bobby Gould, "The Old Neighborhood" is a journey home not to be missed!
Playing at The Custom Stage @ Off-Market (click the link for a map) The Old Neighborhood is for anyone who's ever gone home again to find what they've left behind, and to discover who they have become. The Old Neighborhood previews Thursday Sept 27th, and then runs Wed-Sat, 8pm, until Oct 27th.
