Compulsive neatnik Felix Unger is thrown out of his house by his divorce-bound wife. He arrives to the apartment of his best friend Oscar Madison and, Worried that Felix will try something desperate, Oscar, himself in the process of being divorced by his wife, invites Felix to move in with him. Within a few days, this mismatched pair is on the verge of mutual murder: Felix cannot abide Oscar’s slovenliness, while Oscar is driven insane by Felix’s obsession with cleanliness.
The cast stars Randy Diamon as Felix Unger and Steve Seaholm as Oscar Madison. Completing the cast is Tom Flynn, John Sutton, David Cervera, Russell Nielsen, Chelsea Rossetto and Miranda LeQuire.
Neil Simon worked as a comedy writer for television in the late 1940s and throughout the '50s and honed his playwrighting craft during that time. He went on to write screenplays for motion-picture adaptations of his plays as well as screenplays for a number of original motion pictures including Barefoot in the Park (1963; film 1967), The Odd Couple (1965; film 1968), Plaza Suite (1968; film 1971), Last of the Red Hot Lovers (1969; film 1972), Chapter Two (1977; film 1979) and a trilogy of autobiographical plays consisting of Brighton Beach Memoirs (1983; film 1986). Subsequent plays include Rumors (1988), Lost in Yonkers (1991; film 1993), and The Dinner Party (2000).
