The Nutcracker Ballet performed by the Cincinnati Kinderballet and the Anneliese von Oettingen Ballet Company returns to the Historic Hoosier Theater for its traditional Christmas performance on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 11 am. The theater is located on Ferry Street in downtown Vevay, IN.
Well known for its artistic and technical excellence, this unique children’s company will delight children of all ages. The production incorporates performers ages 7-19 in the classical ballet story told to Tchaikovsky’s beloved music.
The Nutcracker is a beautiful story of joy and make-believe that begins at a Christmas party hosted by the Mayor. A strange man named Doctor Drosselmeyer arrives with gifts for all the children including the mayor’s daughter, Clara.
After entertaining the children with amazing life-sized dolls, he gives Clara a “magical nutcracker”. The story unfolds with a trip to a wonderful land, the Kingdom of Sweets.
Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the Switzerland County Visitors Center located at 128 West Main Street in downtown Vevay or at the door on the day of the performance. For more information call the Visitors Center at 812-427-3237 or 1-800-HELLO-VV.
