Of the unlimited possibility of subjects available to paint, draw, photograph, or sculpt, the human form has been present in all media from their earliest beginnings. As a subject, the nude presents many challenges for the creative eye; the musculature of the human form being the most obvious. Less obvious is the emotional and directorial responsibility of the artist. Working with the human form in an expressive manner requires the artist to be keenly aware of light, shadow, and form.
The workshop will begin with a discussion of the nude as a subject in the medium of photography and will evolve to explore the effects of light and shadow as the primary tool to define shape and form. Students will walk away with an enhanced sense of light, shadow, and form along with many expressive images.
Interested photographers of any experience level working with all types of equipment & format are invited to participate.
