We live in a world full of mysteries. Animals and plants around the world have developed some remarkable adaptations to survive in all different parts of the world. There are organisms inhibiting frozen deserts of Antarctica and organisms that live inside volcanoes. There are sea monsters that live more than 2000 feet below the surface of the ocean and amazing creatures that can survive without any oxygen. This course is designed to introduce students to theory of evolution and explore remarkable adaptations plants and animals have developed to survive and prosper in the various environments. Together with students we will explore the form and function of some animals and plants and relate that to their life styles, discover where they might have come from and who were their (and may be our) ancestors. The course also aims to develop critical and creative thinking and allows student to explore variety of animals and plants they may wish to study further one day. This course is suitable for students in Years K to 2. Details of this event may be subject to change. Please visit http://cce.sydney.edu.au/course/mlnm for more information or to register.
