Fast-talking conman Harold Hill travels the country, convincing parents to let him organize their children into a youth band, though he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. When he gets off the train in River City, Iowa in 1912, his scheme goes as planned until he falls for Marian, the only person in town who understands music.
