New York's own, The Mooney Suzuki, is less a punk group and more a garage band striving for an early Rolling Stones sound. Formed in 1997, The Mooney Suzuki had become New York City's premier, self-made, rock 'n' roll sensation, whose notoriety could only be attributed to tireless work and word of mouth ignited by its live shows. Albert Hammond, Jr. is a guitarist and member of the post-punk band the Strokes.
