“Ichicuts is a Brooklyn, NY electro-soul two piece formed in early 2011 by Gordon Millsaps and Erik Pendleton. Their dynamic live performances are informed by years spent smashing and rebuilding everything in the studio. At any given show, you can expect them to pop open a golden briefcase full of candy for the crowd shortly after unloading their ambulance full of instruments.

The formation of the band has coincided with the renovation of a private recording studio in Brooklyn over the past year and a half. Filthy First Year was recorded in this 50ft x 25ft live room, a space developed solely for the purposes of the band. The album seamlessly blends electronic and old school instrumentation, broad vocal range, and a love for gritty pop. Alan Merrill

One very important fact about Alan Merrill: He was the lead singer and songwriter of the first and original 1975 version of "I Love Rock N Roll" with his band, The Arrows. The song has become an enduring international rock anthem, recorded by Joan Jett, Britney Spears, and many others. Joan Jett saw Merrill perform the song on a British television pop show in '76, while on tour with her band, The Runaways, and she was deeply inspired. Her 1982 version of the song was #1 for 8 weeks in the USA.
