Written and directed by Preston Sturges
Running time: 99 minutes
At a time when most Hollywood films revered the home front, this film takes a not so gentle poke at the sacred institution of American motherhood. Trudi Kockenlocker (Betty Hutton), a small town girl with a yen for soldiers, marries one after a wild night and can't remember his name (she thinks it's something like Private Ratski-watski). When she finds herself pregant, she enlists the help of a friend and sometime flame (Eddie Bracken), who shares the credit when Trudi gives birth to America's secret weapon in the war against Fascism.
