The Middle Atlantic and New England Council for Canadian Studies and The Southern Association for Canadian Studies invite all scholars interested in the study of Canada to join us for our first-ever joint conference on Canada, October 2-5, 2008 in Washington, DC.
Proposals for presentations in any field of Canadian Studies are requested. Of special interest are papers and panels that examine Canadian connections to the National Capital District, recent Canada-USA commercial and economic developments, public health concerns, national defense and border security issues, the Canadian film and television industry, and the relationship of Canadian provinces to the American Northeast, mid-Atlantic or South regions.
Abstracts of 250 words should be submitted electronically to both conference co-chairs:

Conference registration fee:
• $125 (received before September 2, 2008)
• $165 (received after September 2, 2008)
Student registration fee:
• $50 per day or $95 for the conference.
