To all the people of the Melting Pot NYC,
It is with a mixture of joyful resolve and inevitable nostalgia that we announce the next Melting Pot event. For through no fault of our own, this will be the Melting Pot's last event at the world famous Nuyorican Poets' Cafe, our home for the past 4 years. Let's make it one to remember! We took pride in keeping their famed tradition alive by opening the doors of the Nuyorican to the diverse audiences of The Melting Pot. We thank The Nuyorican Poets' Cafe for the opportunity to become a part of history.
It is sad to see such a groundbreaking and legendary place struggle under seemingly insurmountable difficulties stemming from gentrification of the neighborhood, the passage of laws that require more and more from them just to simply operate ... in addition to the uphill economic battles of most non-profit organizations. The Melting Pot NYC urges you to continue to support the place where it began for so many artists, writers, poets, and musicians.
Due to pressures and complaints from the neighborbood, the Nuyorican Poets' Cafe is being forced to limit their operations to avoid issues of sound pollution. The Police and the Community Board have presented a united front on the issue. The line has been drawn and the Melting Pot is outside this box.
Now it is time to think outside the box. Within the Melting Pot we know that obstacles are only stepping stones to a higher plane. For so long we have desired a headquarters for the Melting Pot, a place we can truly call home. This latest "obstacle" is merely a push in the right direction.
We are actively seeking an appropriate space from which we can continue to grow (suggestions are more than welcome) and have our dreams and goals realized. This is happening with all haste so we can continue to bring you Melting Pot nights every last Saturday of the month. We thank you for coming again and again.

See you at our NEXT EVENT:
