The Meister Winds German band will perform at the Historic Hoosier Theater on October 11 for Vevay Main Street’s Shows of Second Saturday. The performance will begin at 7:00 pm at the theater located on Ferry Street in downtown Vevay.
Formed nearly two years ago, members of Central Indiana group had a mutual interest in Bavarian style music. Starting out playing for their own enjoyment, they decided to take their music on the road to introduce communities to German style music. Formed from original instrumentations including clarinets, trumpets, trombone and tuba, the group specializes in central and eastern European waltzes, marches, polkas and novelty tunes.
Along with stage performances The Meister Winds is equally at home directing Oktoberfests or playing at parties and street festivals.
Tickets are $12 for adult and $9 for youths 12 & under and are available in advance at the Switzerland County Visitors Center located at 128 West Main Street in Vevay. Tickets can also be purchased the evening of the performance at the Hoosier Theater.
