Through contemporary art, historical artifacts, and large-scale models, Molecules That Matter showcases ten organic molecules that profoundly altered modern life. In conjunction with this fascinating exhibition, five speakers—all leaders in their fields—will address the science in everyday experiences and the promise and peril of discovery and innovation.
Sandra Steingraber, an expert on the environmental links to cancer and reproductive health, presents “The Many Faces of DDT.” The Sierra Club heralded Steingraber as “the new Rachel Carson.” Her acclaimed book "Living Downstream: An Ecologist Looks at Cancer and the Environment" presents cancer as a human rights issue. Doors open at 5 p.m. Lecture begins at 6 p.m. Reception begins at 7 p.m. Guests will get a sneak peak of the new Museum at CHF.
