The Manchester Society of Architects in association with the University's partner, CUBE is proud to present its annual awards. The exhibition is a selection of projects submitted by members of the Manchester Society of Architects to the 2009 Design Awards.
The Design Awards are held annually with the aims of raising aspirations for high-quality architecture and highlighting the important role this plays in enhancing the built environment. This year they are a key event of the inaugural Manchester Architecture and Design Festival which runs from the 20 April until the 22 May 2009.
The MSA feels it important to promote the value of architectural-design talent in Manchester and therefore aspires to highlight the design skills of its members, thereby raising their profile to demonstrate to all, benefits of good design.
The Awards are judged this year in the following categories;

- Large Scale Residential
- Leisure
- Commercial
- Community
- Conservation, Re-use and Conversion
- Student Projects
- School Projects

- Un-built Large Residential
- Un-built Small Residential
- Un-built Community
- Un-built Commercial
Marked by red dots are schemes which are to be considered for The Andy Robson Prize. This award is dedicated to the memory of a much loved and respected architect whose contribution to the Manchester architectural scene is greatly missed.

Preview evening 30 April 6.00-9.00pm with the awards ceremony at 7.00pm
