The Loomba Foundation Gala Diwali Dinner 2008.
Join us to support poor widows and educate their children worldwide.
The Loomba Foundation is a sister charity of the Loomba Trust, founded in 1997 in the UK by Raj Loomba, who has dedicated himself to improving conditions for widows and their children around the world. The Loomba Trust & Foundation presently educates over 3,600 children of poor widows in all the 29 states of India. We also support 1,500 HIV orphans in South Africa in partnership with Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Unite.
The 2008 Honorees to be celebrated at this year's Loomba Foundation Gala Diwali Dinner will be announced soon. Past honorees include: First Lady Laura Bush; Dr. Craig Barrett, Chairman of Intel; Renuka Chowdhury, Minister of Women and Child Development, Government of India; Yoko Ono and Rachel Mayanja, UN Deputy Secretary General. We will update this site when further information is available.
The Loomba Foundation Gala Diwali Dinner attracts over 300 guests, including senior business and corporate leaders, politicians and diplomats from both the American and Indian communities from the tri-state New York area. It is our major fundraiser supporting the vital work of The Loomba Foundation and The Loomba Trust. Our third annual event in New York will fund, in particular, the education of disadvantaged children of widows in India, and the economic empowerment of young widows in Afghanistan, Uganda, Syria and Colombia by setting up businesses for them through the Loomba Entrepreneur Programmes.
Contributing as a Table Sponsor will provide you with exposure to potential clients, consumers and networking contacts, while recognizing our honorees and aiding the Foundation. Please select your level of support from the following list of the various participations and their benefits.
