The Leading Edge of Electronic Health Records
Making the Health System Personal Again
The Calgary Council for Advanced Technology (CCAT) presents: The Leading Edge of Electronic Health Records: Making the Health System Personal Again, an eye-opening breakfast mixer event on the latest innovations in integrating medical information systems and making this information more available to patients.
Calgary is home to world-class researchers who are solving complex health problems. The creation of an accessible digitized health records system is a daunting task, and one that is relevant to anyone operating in the health or information systems industries. Speakers at this event will include:
Dr. Chad Saunders, Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business and Faculty of Medicine, and Rob Beamish, Executive Director of Clinexus. They will kick off this event by providing a brief overview of some of the local research and industry activities that are shaping the future of how electronic health records are managed.
David Pattenden, Healthcare Director at Microsoft Canada. Mr. Pattenden will give the feature presentation on Microsoft's health vision. He will provide insight into growth opportunities in this sector while highlighting where Microsoft is investing its efforts. Pattenden will also introduce HealthVault and detail the plans for this product in Canada as one approach to dealing with the challenges of implementing personal health records.
This event is the ideal opportunity to learn from and network with these high-level business and technology professionals. We hope to see you there!
