Everyone take a step back, take a deep breath and get a chair ready, because you might want to sit down for this one: The Laurels' debut EP 'Mesozoic' is finally here! Set for release on July 8, it’s fairly safe to say the tag ‘highly anticipated’ is an apt one when referring to Mesozoic.

Until now, The Laurels have wowed audiences and blown minds with their live show, as fans and critics alike have been left wondering whether one day, they might actually be able to own a shiny plastic disc replete with the band’s songs. That day has finally arrived.

The four-piece from Sydney’s inner west have made a name for themselves with their blend of psychedelic shoegaze bliss. They have been described as a mixture of My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, Sonic Youth, The Scientists and even a hybrid blend of The Beatles. But lazy references aside, The Laurels have unquestionably developed and crafted a sound distinctively their own, and have captured the attention of music lovers at home and abroad.

With a unique and completely captivating live show that has seen them share stages and tours with the likes of Tame Impala, Cloud Control, Swervedriver, Low, A Place To Bury Strangers, Jenny & Johnny and Beaches to name but a few, The Laurels are now gearing up to hit the road with Austin’s fiercest psychedelic powerhouse The Black Angels.

Following that, the band will launch Mesozoic with two free shows in their hometown of Sydney before heading down the Hume to extend the love to Melbourne.

The old saying ‘‘good things come to those who wait’’ has never be more fitting than right now.
