The Last Days of Judas Iscariot
By Stephen Adly Guirgis
Directed by Bo Wilson
Part of the Acts of Faith Festival
The Last Days of Judas Iscariot depicts a hypothetical court case over the ultimate fate of Judas Iscariot. Set in a time-bending, darkly comic world between heaven and hell, the play uses flashbacks to an imagined childhood, and lawyers who call for the testimonies of such witnesses as Mother Teresa, Sigmund Freud, Mary Magdalene, Pontius Pilate, Jesus Christ and Satan. The Last Days of Judas Iscariot reexamines the plight and text of the New Testament's most infamous and unexplained sinner. This production contains strong language and is not suitable for children.
