The labyrinth is an ancient pattern enjoying a modern revival. For over 4,000 years, labyrinths have been part of worldwide human experience. The modern revival, in which labyrinths are used for walking meditation, healing and stress reduction, began in the 1990s.
This program will begin with a brief introduction to the labyrinth, its history and uses. After receiving a few simple instructions, everyone will have an opportunity to walk a Petite Chartres canvas labyrinth. Handouts will be provided to help you continue your exploration of the labyrinth.
If you have seen or heard of the labyrinth and wondered how to approach it, this is your opportunity to ask questions and take your first labyrinth walk in a supportive environment. Both beginners and experienced walkers are welcome.
