The Kings Of Spain + support November 29, 2011

The Kings of Spain have changed in terms of personnel and instrumentation over the years yet through each shift they’ve retained a certain essence. Reviewers have referenced Van Morrison, Tim Buckley and others yet also referred to the music as distinctive and original. There’s some truth in all of this.
Their last headliner “Upstairs @ The Patrick Kavanagh” saw them joined by Stephen Moult (Alternative Dubstep Orchestra) on trumpet. Stephen injected funky hooks, a little mariachi and some beautiful melodic interplay into the Kings natural cajon driven grooves and memorable tunes.
So what surprises lie in wait for this show? Who knows? At Artsfest in September they performed 3 new songs. Could there be more in November
