A 5K Walk / Run to benefit families affected by autism, sponsored by the IT community.

The 5K (3.1 mile) course can be walked or ran and the parkway road around Lake Harriet will be blocked off for this event.
Cost is $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the event.

The Shirt and Artwork:
Mary GrandPre', Illustrator of all seven Harry Potter books and an MCAD graduate, has created a custom illustration for the 5K shirt and posters. All participants will receive a race shirt.

About the Cause:
Proceeds benefit TACA, a great organization that provides information, resources and support to families affected by autism. For more information, visit: http://www.tacanow.org

Who is the race for?
----------------------------------
1) For Serious Runners:
Prizes will be awarded to winners in each age category (male and female). This is a certified chip-timed course around the parkway at Lake Harriet, a great 5K course. Individual and Group times will be tracked and posted online.

2) For Not-so-Serious Runners and Walkers:
Door prizes will be randomly drawn and this should be a fun run or walk (your preference)! Groups are encouraged to register and participate together.

3) Autism community:
This will be a special day for the Autism community - bringing together families, friends and caregivers to support TACA, a great cause.

4) The IT Community:
Our gracious IT sponsors have supported the event and will have special prizes for IT participants. This will be a signature event for the IT community in 2009!

Kids? Strollers? Dogs?
===============
Kids are welcome and not required to register - but can if they'd like a race shirt and/or be timed. Strollers and Dogs are fine for walkers, but please line up towards the back rather than towards the front with the runners.
