by Professor Charles Townshend, a British historian with particular expertise in modern British and Irish history, history of war, imperialism and British rule in Palestine. His research Interests also include modern political terrorism.
He is currently Professor of International History at Keele University. He was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2008.
