“The Intersection of Art and Religion,” an exhibition of works by Junko Chodos will be on display at UCLA Hillel through March 13, 2011. The exhibit will include Junko’s complete series “Concerning Art and Religion” and six works from her series “Requiem for An Executed Bird.”

Junko holds a B.A. in the Philosophy of Art and Art History from Waseda University. Her art is in the permanent collections of several museums and universities in the US and Europe. She has exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions in New York, Tokyo, and Osaka, and has given lectures in museums, galleries, universities and other institutions including the Getty Museum, the Fresno Art Museum, the Long Beach Museum, the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art in St. Louis, Claremont Graduate University, the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, and Barnard College in New York City. Her work is featured in two full-length books.
