Take home an original vintage poster and explore the “Art of Taboo” at the 16th Annual International Vintage Poster Fair, coming to Chicago the weekend of March 16. Featuring taboos in advertising, this year’s theme will highlight images that push the limits of cultural acceptance. There will be 25 exhibitors from the U.S. and Western Europe with thousands of original vintage posters for sale from the 1890s - 1980s. Some master designers who will be represented include Leonetto Cappiello, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Alphonse Mucha, Ludwig Hohlwein, Edward Penfield, and Marcello Dudovich.
The March 16th opening night party is open to the public, benefits the Evening Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago, and includes wine, hors d’oeuvres, a raffle and lecture. Cost: $30 for Evening Associate Members and $40 for the public, in advance and prior to March 16, $35 for Evening Associate Members and $45 for the public at the door.
