The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, in Calgary - Press Conference October 16, 2005

Calgary Mayor Dave Bronconnier proclaims October 17, 2005 as International Day for the eradication of Poverty. The Low-Income Coalition, Disability Action Hall, Homeless Awareness Calgary Committee and a community member are organising a press conference from Noon to 1:00 pm in the Atrium at City Hall. Poverty experts will speak about poverty.

?International Day for the Eradication of Poverty in Calgary is about raising awareness of the serious social issue of poverty and showcasing initiatives that are working to address poverty,? says the Mayor.

Therefore, a number of community groups will host displays that highlight the fabulous work Calgarians are doing to eradicate poverty at home and aboard.
