The Influenza Casino July 23, 2011

Have you ever wondered how a new influenza pandemic starts, why we need the latest vaccines, or how a virus develops drug resistance? This talk by a scientist from the Bioinformatics Institute of the Agency of Science and Technology in Singapore, Dr Sebastian Maurer-Stroh aims to give simple explanations to these questions using similarities to games of chance.
