Baroness Jean Coussins, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Languages will talk about the importance of learning and using modern languages and notably how language learning can be mainstreamed in schools and further and higher education.

This lecture is part of a series on the theme of "Language and Society". The series is to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Masters in Translation and the four lectures in the series will cover a range of themes flagging up the wider importance of language for society.
