The Ice House Bilingual Arts Showcase takes place on Saturday, September 24, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the art gallery. Closing reception at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Arte Oak Cliff and the Ice House Cultural Center present the Ice House Bilingual Arts Showcase Saturday, September 24 to expose the Dallas community to the choices of activities, classes and performances available throughout the year at the Ice House Cultural Center in Oak Cliff. From critically acclaimed Latino dance and theatre companies to an internationally renowned classical guitar instructor to a distinguished mural-painting program for youth, the Ice House boasts of the best of bilingual and bicultural arts and education in Dallas, for children, families, adults and schools. All programs are low-cost or free. Many are bilingual. All are unique.
The Ice House Cultural Center is located at 1004 W. Page Street - Dallas, Texas, 75208, located one block south of 12th Street at the corner of Page and Polk Streets (MAPSCO page 54-F).
Each group will present a demonstration and/or performance based on their programs. Some will demonstrate samples of touring performances or shows that have been presented in the Ice House gallery. Others will present information or examples of classes and workshops offered at the Ice House or that are available in schools.

Alegre Ballet Folklorico (Traditional and non-traditional Mexican folk dance)
Association of Traditional Artists (Workshops in painting)
Ballet Folklorico of Dallas (Traditional Mexican folklorico)
Cara Mía Theatre Company (Bilingual Latino theatre company)
Ice House Drawing (Low-cost classes in drawing techniques for children)
Ice House Guitar (Lessons in classical and popular guitar)
Mural Art Project (Ice House mural workshop for youth)
MACA (Spanish-speaking Latino theatre company)
Ritmo Latino (Salsa, Merengue classes and Cabaret performance)

About the Ice House Cultural Center:
The Ice House Cultural Center is funded by the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs and provides a Latino - focused venue to promote arts and cultural events that reflect the diversity of Oak Cliff and the surrounding neighborhoods. It is a community- based program in the Oak Cliff area that works with organizations, community artists, and schools in presenting a series of arts oriented programs that include exhibits, performances, workshops and art residencies.
