“The Hungry Ear,” the library program devoted to the art of the short story, will praise the ladies of letters at this program. “In Hiding” by Joyce Carol Oates will be read by Maryann Johnson; “The Crop” by Flannery O’Connor will be read by Kate Murray; and “Was it in His Hand?” by Elizabeth Bishop will be read by Judy McMahon. These stories are about the choices people make during their lives and the consequences of those choices. All are invited to this unique evening event, which will take place in the Library’s Exhibit Room. For more information, please contact the Library’s Information Services Department at 607-778-6451.
