The Highballers + The Resistance EP Release + The WeatherVanes January 28, 2012

The Highballers have been spinning heads since 2006 in the Northeast with buttery sweet harmonies that meld perfectly with the twang of Fender Telecasters. Guitarist Sean Lally's years of stage and studio experience is clear when he's playing his blazing leads. Besides being a driving force in the band's sound, the vintage guitar aficionado has a collection of nearly 30 guitars. Drake Sorey is a highly sought after drummer for good reason. His strong, steady and creative drumming carries the group. Los Angeles native, bassist Mike Barrientos, who spent a decade playing in punk bands, is the most recent addition to The Highballers, and his playing has brought a jolt to the band.

The Resistance emerged in early 2009 with musical influences ranging from Death Cab for Cutie, Coldplay, U2 and Radiohead. This indie-rock powerhouse is comprised of four seasoned musicians from the local scene bringing together a different, yet powerful mix of musical styles and genres. The Resistance has built a loyal following that has describes them as an indie band that incorporates a wide-range of styles into their music... simple, yet refined guitars with melodic undertones and a warm texture, high energy driving beats to ballad songs with a sprinkle of indie rock riffs, compassionate vocals with a soft voice but an occasional loud declaration of presence and a solid low end bass guitar that gives a rich depth to the overall sound.

The WeatherVanes are a folk 'n' roll band based out of Alexandria, VA. Their influences include; Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, Josh Ritter, and Ryan Bingham. Their music is a great mix of folk, blues, rock, and pop. They bring great energy to the stage, and will leave you wanting more.
