The Official Guinness Oyster Festival presented by the ASBURY PARK PRESS will be held in Red Bank on Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 12-7 PM.
This music, food and Guinness event will be staged in the White Street Parking Lot which is adjacent to the Red Bank business district with entry on White Street.
Headlining at the event is the national act 2U - The World's 2nd Best U2 Show. The event will also feature 2 stages with multiple bands and a mix of Irish music, blues and rock and roll.
There will be tons of fresh oysters and 25 of Red Bank’s favorite restaurants will be serving a variety of specialty menu items including everything from mini Ruebens to seared tuna. The event will be family-friendly as well.
This event is a fundraiser for the Booker Cancer Center at Riverview, the Cancer Institute of NJ and the Red Bank RiverCenter. Admission is $5.00 for anyone over 13. Go to www.RueEvents.com for more information.

We in Monmouth County are fortunate to live in a region where residents and visitors alike can travel to a nearby festival on almost any given weekend that’s suited to nearly every taste, from seafood to jazz, from New Jersey wines to the history of those who made a living clamming and fishing our local waters.
The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce is proud to again be presenting the Asbury Park Oysterfest. Now entering its fourth year, the Asbury Park Oysterfest is expanding to a 2-day event which will take place along Cookman and Lake Avenues in Asbury Park’s hip and historic downtown on September 11 and 12, 2010.
In the past week, local papers have reported that Oysterfest, which “in previous years had been held in Asbury Park,” was moving to Red Bank. The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce would like to clarify, for the record, that Asbury Park will continue to hold the same successful Oysterfest it has staged in previous years and that Red Bank is in the process of creating its own fledgling Oysterfest, on a date yet to be determined.
Despite similar names, the two festivals are geographically distinct. Asbury Park’s Oysterfest is definitely not relocating from its historic home in the City by the Sea and we would like the 60,000 visitors who attended last year’s Oysterfest in Asbury Park to know that this year’s Asbury Park Oysterfest will be even bigger and better.
We wish Red Bank great success with its new event and simply wish to put an end to any misperception that Asbury Park will no longer be hoisting its very popular Oysterfest.
