The GrandMothers of Invention is comprised of legendary members of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, including vocalist-saxophonist-flutist Napoleon Murphy Brock, bassist Tom Fowler, keyboardist-vocalist Don Preston and drummer-percussionist Christopher Garcia. Formed in 2002, the group represents three different Zappa eras and easily traverse the range of Zappa's music, from psychedelic rock to jazzy harmonies to surreal satire.
