The 2010 Annual General Meeting of CILIP in London Branch will be held at CILIP, 7 Ridgmount Street, London WC1E 7AE at 6.00pm on Wednesday 12 May 2010. Refreshments will be available from 5.30pm. Proceedings will conclude at 7.45pm to allow for vacation of the building by 8.00pm. Special Guest Speaker: Professor David Nicholas : ‘The Google Generation: implications for libraries and librarians’. Discusses how young (and older) people use, read and search for information in the digital information environment. Based upon 7 years of CIBER research, including work featured on the BBC Virtual Revolution TV series. David Nicholas is Director of the Department of Information Studies, the UK’s biggest postgraduate information school with more than 200 students studying librarianship, information science, electronic publishing, archives, records management and publishing. He is also Director of the UCL Centre for Publishing and the CIBER research group The evening is open to all but only members of the Branch may participate in the AGM.
