Steve Hartman, California Native Plant Society Treasurer, will speak at The G2 Gallery, a green art space dedicated to nature and wildlife photography, as a part of G2’s Garden Lecture Series.
Starting off with a basic lawn and hedges in the front yard, and ivy in the backyard, Steve and Leslie Hartman have transformed their Sherman Oaks landscape into a mostly California native one that requires no water in the west-facing front yard. Steve will discuss the fleeting beauty of California annuals, proof that our region does indeed cycle through seasons.
Also demonstrated will be a collection of seeds, examples of why you shouldn't plant too close together, and interesting combinations of floral color.
