The Finance Speaker Series at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, will host financial planner and alumna Kathryn Nusbaum ’89 on Thursday, Dec. 2.
She will speak at 7 p.m. in the Samuel P. “Pat” Black III Conference Center located on the first floor of the college’s Jack Burke Research and Economic Development Center. The event is free and open to the public, and parking will be available in the Burke Center deck.
Nusbaum’s presentation, “The Foundation of Financial Well Being,” offers the basic tools and knowledge investors need to manage their financial lives. “This is not a budgeting class or a get-rich-quick investment seminar,” Nusbaum said. “Rather, I teach the unbiased, time-tested tools needed to build wealth and persevere through turbulent financial times. I want to put individuals on the path to financial security, confident financial decision making, and greater overall well-being.”
In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree in management from Penn State Behrend, Nusbaum holds an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is a Registered Investment Adviser Representative, a Certified Financial Planner®, and a Certified Public Accountant. She is chief executive officer of Middle America Planning Inc., a fee-only financial advisory and consulting firm in Pittsburgh, and a professional speaker who has talked to thousands of adults and students across the country about effective money skills and aligning financial decisions with personal goals.
Nusbaum joined the Penn State Behrend Council of Fellows advisory board in 2007.
