Written by SIP & Brooklyn Writers Space Playwrights, rehearsed, staged and performed in a 24 hour period
BAX Scripts in Progress (SIP) series and the Brooklyn Writers Space join forces to stage The Folk Play Project. Inspired by the power of folk music to share stories, tell truth, and bring people together, six new plays will be created in 24 hours, each inspired by a song from the American folk tradition.
The playwrights include William Croft Vaughn, Michael Freeman, LaShea Delaney, and Emily Feldman, with more writers and directors to be announced. Enjoy an evening featuring live music and original theatre produced by Scott Adkins, Gabe Miner, and Maya Parra.
Stay tuned to http://bax.org/folk-play-project/ for updates on writers, directors, and performers!
