Toronto Film Society presents part 2 of 7 of Monday Nights with the Stars
We tackle World War II from two different points of view tonight.
GREAT GUNS 1941 directed by Monty Banks and starring Laurel and Hardy Chaos, panic and disorder are the orders of the day when the "boys" enlist to take care of their sickly employer.
CORVETTE K-225 directed by Richard Rosson with Randolph Scott, Ella Raines. A rare war films that actually spotlights Canadian contributions. Tough all-Canadian Captain Scott must put to sea with barely trained men and battle German subs with only the warming memories of the lovely Ella to keep him motivated. First rate action scenes(we mean the on the sea of course).
Free film notes with the programme. This is part of a membership that costs $90 for all 7 programmes(that's less than $6.50/film) Can't make all the programmes? Then it's $15 at the door that includes a trial membership in the Society. Visit our website or phone the office at 416 363-7222.
