Chaos Theory brings together more exciting new post rock and alternative rock bands with cinematic sounds from all over the UK.
obe:
This instrumental band flits between beautiful ambient shoegaze and soul-wrenching emotional riffs, using odd timings all the way through. The results are epic. So far they've released two mind blowing EPs to critical acclaim and have airtime on BBC Radio 6. With their debut full-length album on the horizon, we can't stop listening to their two-track album teaser Standard Cheese.
“If cosmic post-rock is your musical bag... then buy the record when it comes out.” - Beard Rock
“A nice deviation from the norm.” - Echoes And Dust
Sumer:
Great alternative and prog rock band from Alton, bringing us their light fingered pacey hooks. Swaying between light melodies to mighty riffs, all layered with ethereal vocal harmonies, this is a band encapsulating all that's great about alternative rock. Check out their debut single 'Vanes', released last year.
Karhide:
A one-man project from Southampton, producing noisy post rock. With familiar elements drawn from genres such as industrial, metal, electronica and rock, he manages to compile sounds we know to produce fresh, original music. He has several singles out on Field Records, all of which we've enjoyed.
"The bass heavy metallic churn of opener ‘Dirigo’ wouldn’t sound out of place on Pelican’s debut EP, while ‘Ride’ melds soft, shimmering guitars, lush synth textures and skittering electronics to stunning effect. 8/10" - Rock Sound
