The Escape Artist: starring John Kelly with special guest Carol Lipnik and musical director John DiPintoPerformance artist John Kelly brings his multi-octave voice to a series of original songs that reflect his obsession with the paintings of Caravaggio. Having brought to life characters ranging from Egon Schiele to Joni Mitchell, this group of songs form a more oblique and autobiographical angle: a velocity addicted globe traipsing man identifies with the turbulent life and paintings of Caravaggio. A starred male dragged through dark times, an artist escaped, the weathered sage returned solid to sing Profit Blues, Dagmars Eyes, Beauty Kills Me, The Dazzling Darkness, Cara Viaggio.
