Donizetti’s Italian classic is reimagined with an American swagger in Jonathan Miller’s inventive production that captures the 1950’s Southwest, complete with soda jerks, a Ford Fairlane, and a dusty roadside diner.
Returning to City Opera after receiving rave reviews for her portrayal of Donna Anna in last season’s production of Don Giovanni, Stefania Dovhan stars as the heart's desire of the lovesick Nemorino, sung by rising tenor David Lomeli in his City Opera debut.
