Independent Arts & Media presents the Eighth Annual Expo for the Artist & Musician, kicking off on MONDAY, Sept. 10, and running clear through SATURDAY, Sept. 15, with a uniquely diverse array of events, workshops, screenings, panels, connections and a colossal showcase of local-arts organizations.

The Expo is produced entirely by volunteers, and supports independent culture and community with these free programs. Our resources are limited -- please help spread the word!

-- FREE WORKSHOPS @ CELLSPACE, Sept. 10-13, including breakdancing, turntablism, puppetry, pinhole photography, and digital photo editing.
-- FILM SCREENINGS & FILM FINANCE WORKSHOP, Sept. 10-11 @ the Variety Preview Room and Dolby Laboratories.
-- "$56 MILLION & WHERE'S THE ART?", Sept. 12, A free panel at CounterPulse focusing on solutions to the challenge of arts funding in SF.
-- 80+ EXHIBITORS, Sept. 15: A uniquely diverse array of organizations: Arts services, culture & community, education, film & video, music, performance, publishing/media, SF mayoral candidates, venues/spaces, visual arts & youth.
-- A FULL DAY OF WORKSHOPS & PANELS, Sept. 15, Sea chanteys, intellectual property & licensing, LPFM and Internet radio, black disabled art history, science fiction writing, burlesque and more!
-- THE THIRD COMMUNITY ARTS SHOWCASE, Sept. 15: Live outdoor stage featuring an open mic, plus Hobogoblins, 123 Not It!, Esmerelda Strange, Chelle! & Friends, The Pasties, Radius/The Southern Ocean, Octomutt.
