Cast a furtive glance back at the British rock music scene of the late 1960?s, the perceived image of this era is one peace, love and gentle vibes. A deeper look would reveal that underneath all this veneer, a band existed that were rebellious, anarchic and serious about the social and political injustices of the day. The Edgar Broughton Band was all of these things and more. In an age when social injustices and unpopular military adventures by super-powers first began to be questioned, the Edgar Broughton Band were at the forefront of a musical and social revolution that swept across Europe in the late 1960?s and early 1970?s.

Formed in the sleepy town of Warwick, brothers Rob ?Edgar? Broughton (Guitar, vocals), Steve Broughton (drums) and Arthur Grant (bass, vocals) became flag wavers for any radical cause that needed their support. Along with cohorts Hawkwind and the Pink Fairies, the Broughton?s were the first of the proto-punks, ploughing their furrow nearly a decade before the likes of Sex Pistols, The Clash and The Damned came to be.
