The Easy Tease is the creative synergy of Adam Janos (piano/vocals),
Maggie Carson (banjo/vocals), Daniel Bieber (cello), and Mike Feld
(drums). According to the Boston Globe, the quirky instrumentation of
the band "makes for a bold sound as plucked banjo is spiked with
strident piano". As this borscht bubbles, a unified sound is evoked –
one both accessible and mysteriously original.
The band's "Decision 2008" set consists of 9 original songs from the
upcoming album, along with several short theatrical skits centered
around the theme of electing a band president. These skits -- light,
absurd, and pointedly impertinent to the American presidential race --
serve as a vehicle to bring out the band's collective personality.
From the moment the audience enters the house until the set's
conclusion, their votes are pursued by the "candidates" via grandiose
speeches, campaign songs, and vicious inter-band mudslinging. At the
end of the night, votes cast into the ballot box are tallied and
Austin's primary delegates are allotted into the tour's overall
